Does the Plantronics 400 RIG have 3.5mm cables? You will probably need a 3.5mm splitter cable. Are you trying to have the chat come into your headset (in which case the Elgato Chatlink cable will work) or also have the chat recorded (in which case you will need a splitter and piggy-back cables)

In general, I agree. But another angle I'm starting to look at it from is that one of the biggest strengths of Three Houses is that there is so much to do. Also, one of the biggest weaknesses of Three Houses can be that there is so much to do. I'm starting to see some strength in the sprawl of Engage being tighter. Three Houses is still the better experience, but I appreciate Engage more now than I did when it first launched.

I haven't spooled back up to streaming again; right now I'm recording offline a lot. I may get back to streaming 25% of the time, but I am still figuring out how to wire that back in to my schedule.

for the record the gameplay is coming up fine on my TV, but not to my computer on OBS

What state has your computer been in since the first recording? Sleep, Hibernate? Have you tried deleting the original Source instance, shutting down OBS, restarting it, and recreating the source device instance in OBS? Also, are you using the default resolution settings for the inbound signal for the device?

There are no drivers to install, however, if you have not already used things like OBS, or some other video capture software before, then you have that learning curve to surmount.

Thanks so much, @kenny wu . At the time this video was recorded, the MiraBox capture card that was being sold on Amazon was just a 1080p card. I have noticed new SKUs that may very well have a 4k passthrough now. If you are trying to get external sound to speakers out of a 7.2 sound system, I do not know of any way that you could hear that way without it bleeding over into the mic. If you are saying that you want to pass sound to a 7.2 audio card or receiver, and then listen to that on headphones, doing that with the XBox is pretty easy. The Xbox One and Series X and S will dual route audio out over HDMI, or Optical (on the One), and simultaneously route audio to the controller. So if you're trying to pass the 7.2 audio to your stream, you can use the HDMI out on the XBox audio that is going to the capture card and cfg that as the audio source in OBS (assuming that you are sending HDMI to a 7.2 receiver, then to the capture card, then to your display) while you are listening to the audio using headphones plugged into the controller. By contrast, the PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as the Nintendo Switch, will only send audio down one path, and so as soon as something is plugged into the PS4/5 controller, or the 3.5mm out on the Switch, audio no longer goes down the HDMI out. You can work around that by using splitters or a Elgato Chat Link cable. Alternatively for either setup, if you have audio out of the display you are sending HDMI to, you can use headphones on the display. This has the convenience that your personal listening is cfg'd upstream of any of your stream audio and should never be the source of problems. Everything going to your livestream and local recording will be uninterrupted, and therefore easier to troubleshoot. Lemme know if that answers the question to your specific use-case. Thanks!

Wow. Thanks so much, man! Yeah, for the PS4 and 5 audio output, I typically try to always play them on a monitor that has audio out. Then I can just let the PlayStation send its audio to the monitor over HDMI, then I take the 3.5mm audio out and run it to my mixer. The PS4 has optical out, so I have mixers that can take in audio and when I used to play on that and the XB1, I used optical. Of course the bummer is that neither the PS5 or the XB Series has optical, so I've gone back to the audio out of the monitor route for the PlayStation. Of course, the XBox' can dual-route audio over both HDMI and the controller, so it is less of a hassle on that platform. The Switch has 3.5mm out, so in that case I route the audio straight to my mixer. A mixer solves dozens of problems with streaming, and even an inexpensive Behringer Xenyx 302USB does wonders for making things more convenient.

Check "Use custom audio device" in the "Properties for [whatever you named the MiraBox in the Source list]" configuration menu, then see what shows up there in the drop down and select one. If that does not work and there are multiple devices in the drop down, keep selecting one until you hear sound. Make sure you have the Xbox configured to send sound out of HDMI and not just the controller. Make sure that you hear sound coming out of your tv. If it is not coming out of the tv, you're not routing audio to the capture card. You can mute the tv or whatever your normal setup is once you've checked this.

What game system? The PlayStation 4 can only send audio down one channel; so as soon as you connect a 3.5mm jack to the DualShock Controller, audio stops going down HDMI.

What are you using as a source for the in-game audio in OBS?

Can you give me some more details on your setup, please. Have you confirmed that if you just send audio out over HDMI that it gets to your TV or monitor?

Check to see if you need to enable "Use custom audio device" in the Capture Card source properties in OBS and select an audio output source from the capture card sub-menu. I capture audio through a mixer, so it has been too long for me to remember if you need to do that with this particular card. Several cards require this, so this one may fall into that category.

Is the output showing up in your streaming or capture application? OBS or whatever you have chosen to use? And does the display show up on the TV when you go directly to the display and not through the capture card?

Not through most capture cards, no. Most commercial cards on the market today support 60Hz pass-through and recording, and so when you pass your video signal through the card to get to your TV or monitor, then it is also limited by the 60Hz max signal that the card supports. The AverMedia Live Gamer Ultra GC533, Live Gamer 4K - GC573 (an internally mounted capture card), and Live Gamer Bolt GC555 support 120Hz pass-through or above at various resolutions.

How exactly are you routing audio and over what type of audio line? There should be no static on an HDMI line. Try swapping HDMI cables maybe?

You should! These are fine, but my SteelSeries Arctis 7's are hands down the best I have ever owned. You shouldn't be disappointed.

You can take it over HDMI, or send it to a recording device or a PC over analog, taking 3.5m out to the gaming platform's analog output and sending it to whatever you are using to record or the streaming PC's analog input.

There are not a lot of people playing it. Typical matches for me were one human player on each side; maybe once I saw two on each side. I have not heard about the GPU utilization. I'll have to check on it.

What application are you using?

@@eddiejuicerock What is the audio source you are using? Do you get the same behavior when you are listening to that HDMI source without the capture card? Like through your monitor speakers or TV? Can yo route the audio to another source, such as out a 3.5mm or optical output from the source?

@@eddiejuicerock Just to make sure I understand what you are saying...are you saying that you have routed the game video through the capture card to a streaming PC...but you are listening to the audio out of your PC speakers or a headset? Are you saying that the sound is cutting out on the streaming PC that is getting the game audio over HDMI through the capture card? Or are you saying that the audio you are listening to out of your PC speakers or a headset is cutting out?

I am not positive and have not directly tested it with a MacBook. Hopefully the product info on the Amazon listing should say so if it is or not or a customer may have tested it?

No driver is needed. Sounds like your keyboard is getting power (turning the lights on) at least. You might have a bad connector? Send it back to Amazon or maybe first try plugging it in to a different PC to test it? And other USB ports on the same PC.

I do not have any good explanation for why it works with some cameras and others not, especially it seems when integrating with OBS. I've noticed that as an integration component with cameras and OBS, the Mirabox is not 100% compatible with every camera. I think somewhere here someone asked something similar and my recommendation is that if you are buying the Mirabox primarily for camera integration, it is a good idea to order it, test it with your camera to make sure it works, and send it back if it does not. It does not work well with my Sony Alpha a6000 or my Panasonic HDC-HS80, but works fine with my GoPro-style camera. I tend to use it as a capture card, where it works all of the time, and not use it for camera integration. My Elgato Cam Link 4K and Blackmagic Design Web Presenter are more consistent, although they can be way more expensive. Due to the cost of those, I recommend that someone looking to get by with the less expensive Mirabox try it for $99 and send it back if it does not work.

No drivers. There are some limited lighting options, On steady, on breathing, and off, I think? They are changed by a hardware key shortcut so no software is needed.

Can you verify that audio is going from your XBox through the capture card and outputs at the TV? Are you able to hear the game if you turn your TV audio on through the TVs speakers?

Should not be a problem and it is really nice to use custom caps. I also use a Koolertron Programmable Split Mechanical Keyboard, and I ordered Hyperkin custom caps and use those and it is great!
